This year, we plan on walking the South Downs Way from Winchester to Eastbourne.
The South Downs way is a national long distance walking path in the southern part of England.

South Downs Way
Our walk starts in Winchester and finishes in Eastbourne on the south coast.
We will ascend and descend a total of 12,600 ft in elevation along the 100 mile path. As usual, we will walk about 10 miles a day, leaving the path each afternoon to find our accommodation for the evening.
The south downs area, shown in green in the picture above, is protected by the National Trust from further development and is mostly farm land and open space, it has been a walking route for centuries being on the high ground.
From now until we start the walk in May, we need to keep hiking in preparation for the route, we both look forward to the days of exploration.
